BUSINESS:

    The Wabash County Solid Waste Management District offers technical assistance, education and financial aid to business and industries who want to begin or continue solid waste reduction practices. Because Wabash County businesses are both varied and specialized, we designed this portion of our website to provide links for local business to state and national waste reduction organizations and information sources.

    The District provides the following services for local business and industry:

    • waste assessments
    • waste reduction seminars
    • Information about grants available for waste reduction projects and processes
    • internet information.

      The following list of sites provides solid waste reduction information and resources for all types of business and industry.

      http://www.in.gov/idem/oppta (Indiana Dept. of Environmental Management, Office of Pollution Prevention and Technical Assistance - OPPTA) - helps business and industry stop pollution at its source; offers source reduction plans for industries, grant programs to encourage pollution reduction innovation, statewide recycling efforts, and education/outreach efforts through workshops and seminars.

      http://www.in.gov/idem/imx (Indiana Materials Exchange) - facilitates recycling and reuse of industrial and commercial waste through maintaining and distributing listings of materials available and materials wanted; Web-based service is provided by the Indiana Dept. of Environmental Management's Office of Pollution Prevention and Technical Assistance. Listing service provided free of charge to users.
